Welcome to the friday five:
  1. Are you going to school this year? Nope. Just bassoon lessons. And tap class. But no real school.
  2. If yes, where are you going (high school, college, etc.)? If no, when did you graduate? I didn't graduate from college.
  3. What are/were your favorite school subjects? Well, theater was an easy class -- lots of hours, but if you knew how to operate flashlights and those little scarves... I liked band during concert season, which I guess is why I'm playing again. I really enjoyed my senior AP English class in high school, too, but it was hard.
  4. What are/were your least favorite school subjects? Easy. I didn't like math. I was good at it, but it was tedious. I hated the classes that were full of idiots, too... my Economics class comes to mind. In college I took this ethics class, and the professor (Victor something...) was a total pompous ass.
  5. Have you ever had a favorite teacher? Why was he/she a favorite? I know I had teachers who, at the time, I thought were my favorites. The were "cool" or lenient. They seemed more grounded than the others... But years later, looking back, they're not the ones who impress me. I really admire my English teacher from 12th grade -- Gay Dale. She was amazing, but very difficult to please. I still admire Jerry Thomas, who was my band teacher for all of high school. He was (and presumably still is) disciplined, dedicated, and would give praise in sparing enough amounts that it was still precious but could be earned. I also still admire Patti Tuck, who was my 8th grade science teacher. Not only was she genuinely dedicated, she didn't take any crap off of anyone (that I could see). I liked that.
That wraps it up for today!
