GAWD today was crazy. There was this, which led to this, and of course this. Not to mention that this fucker is out. I'm savoring the hopefulness tonight, even though I'm sure it'll wear thin sooner than I would like. And what the hell is the world coming to when Dallas votes for Democrats? What the happened? I swear things are getting weirder by the day.

And since I'm in here, checking out the new Knitty... I like Serrano. I'm ready to do something a little more challenging, so if I can find some appropriate yarn in my stash this may well be my next project.

I need to learn how to do this. Even though it looks hard and kinda creepy, I think it's time for me to learn a new nifty knitting skill. Two socks at once on 2 circs is no stranger, but on dpns? Or even on 2 circs without the dreaded crossover problems that come with doing them side by side? Not to mention the magic factor...

Ah, the job. Sometimes (often) it's stressful. Daily, it's weird. And then some days you have something out in "teh media" that makes me go "whoa, cool!" The NYT travel article on SL is just such an article. I'm not sure why I like this one in particular. Perhaps because it's not supergushy. Perhaps because it's not all about the economy. It showcases that SL is a cool place to visit, and like all destinations, sometimes people visit again and again. Some even move there.
There are lots of people making personal connections in SL, but I haven't really been one of them. I still like to visit and shop, and I keep a home there. Stephen has lots of friends in SL, and they'll come over to our house to hang out. I like that -- kinda like I'm pirating his friends for socialization, but that's Good Enough (TM) for me. I always was more about entertaining at home than going out on the town.

I saw an otter from the ferry this morning. Oh. My. God. SO cute. I'm taking it as a good omen for the day. We'll see if that actually pans out.
