I mean come on. That’s disingenuous at best.
On @MorningEdition, Greenwald was trying pretty hard to put distance between himself and Assange. https://t.co/kiavLM2Sl7

RT @TamyEmmaPepin: Congratulations to Katie Bouman to whom we owe the first photograph of a black hole ever. Not seeing her name circulate…
I hope that experience helped cultivate empathy for members of underrepresented groups in homogenous organizations. Ideally, you also learned the importance of deliberate inclusion in strong companies. https://t.co/rt4iHlR8R7
Re-reading this, maybe it’s not a false sense of SECURITY but a false sense of COMFORT. I guess it comes down to how bad an organization is at embracing growth and change.
Companies who don’t deliberately invest in broadening their culture undercut long-term success. All for a false sense of security in the short-term.
From there, the company gets to try to retain the people they have managed to attract and hire. As people grow and change – which is healthy and good – narrow compatibility will break. Those people will leave. And recruiting is expensive.
Growth is the obvious first problem in companies that define “compatibility” narrowly. How many people can you really get that fit that definition? How do you even test for that in the interview process? (My guess – Very badly.)
“Compatibility” should not be a narrow band. If it is, that company isn’t resilient in multiple dimensions, whether they know it or not. https://twitter.com/ideabloke/status/1115870042799902720
