One last thing I remember – in the old building, before AMI moved everything to the soon-to-be-anthraxed building, department signs lined the hallway above the doors. Someone had taped a few extra letters to one – it read “ILLegal Affairs.” 6/End

AMI tried to hire me after that. They offered a lot more money and a fancy new title. I said no, and instead made my way to California. I’ve never regretted NOT taking that job, but thanks to @RonanFarrow I’m now downright giddy I passed. 4/
I was a sysad at the time, and spent days round-the-clock copying data offsite before the power was shut off. At least I never had to go back in carrying a cell phone, wearing a bunny suit. Someone else got that job. 3/
When anthrax hit the facility, I think we all got even closer working through the crisis. We had to make a hasty move from their brand-new facility and set up shop in a rented space down the road. 2/
I did some work as a vendor for AMI in 2001-2002, back when I still worked in print/prepress. Today I finished listening to #CatchAndKill and oh my it took me back. I mostly associate the AMI project with the people on the team. There were some good ones. 1/
