I am NOT getting the same thing for my 10π calculations, BTW. I guess since I did it by days and you did it by months they're different. But why are they so different? See, I went this way:
10π = 31.45927 (figuring that was enough on the significant digits). Then, since this is a leap year -- .45927 * 366 = ~152. 152 + 27 (to account for the offset from the beginning of the year) = 179. And the 179th day of this year is 27 June.
It still confuses me.




Comments:
I think our calculations are so different because of the methologies used are different. The leap year didn't occur to me & since a birthday is celebrated every year on the same date regardless of leap year, I think that's still valid. I chose to based my calculations based on dates of the months of the year as opposed to number of days in a year, which accounts for the differences in our calculations. You should do what ever works for you. After all it's really all about the pi. =)
